The personal blog for Thomas Hochmann

Disclosures and Disclaimers

September 09, 2019 — Thomas M. Hochmann

This policy is valid from September 9, 2019.

Disclosure Policy: This site is a personal blog written and edited solely by me, Thomas M. Hochmann. Everything within this web site is strictly personal in nature. I do not accept any form of third party advertising, sponsorship, or paid insertions for this site. I operate and maintain this site 100% using my own personal funds.

I am an employee of FedEx. However, this is strictly a personal web site and nothing on this site is an official communication from FedEx or any of its subsidiary companies. (And honestly, why would I blog about work? I'd much rather write about Bible study and devotionals, which are tremendously more important than any company or any paycheck.)

I would like to disclose the following existing relationships. None of these have any influence over what I do with this web site or the content I post on it, but I believe in being fully transparent:

  • As mentioned above, I am an employee of FedEx.
  • I own stock in both FedEx and UPS, oddly enough.
  • I invest in a number of mutual funds and/or ETFs managed by Vanguard and iShares. I couldn't tell you what stocks, bonds, etc. are in these "basket" investments because I really don't know or care as long as they keep earning money in my portfolio.

Affiliates: I do not currently use any affiliate links on this site. If that changes, the links will be noted on individual posts/pages where the links occur, and this disclosure page will be updated as well.

I do not receive any compensation for anything I link to on this site, whether you click it or not, tweet it or not, or buy it or not.

Links: I occasionally link to other sites and services on the web. I do my best to link only to quality web sites, but I don't control external content or what other people do. Linking to something does not necessarily mean I am endorsing or recommending it.

Please let me know if a link goes bad, or if you think there's an issue I need to know about.

Do your own due diligence to keep yourself safe on the web and to research people/organizations you get information or services from.

Privacy: This site does not collect any info about you. There's no search box for me to track what you're interested in, no mailing lists to sign up for... Heck, this site doesn't even have a comments system, because really, it's all about me!

My web server probably logs basic info like your IP address when you access different pages, but I don't even know where those logs might be and I don't really care about them. I'm not trying to market to anyone or target anybody with this site. It's really just a personal scrapbook where I post stuff for my own enjoyment. I don't even track basic statistics to tell you if 1 person or 1,000 people visited my web site this week.

Bottom line: rest easy that your privacy is 100% intact because 1) I don't have anything you can log into or type stuff into, and 2) I don't know or have any interest in any of your info.

Disclaimer: Everything I post on this site is published in good faith based on my own opinions, views, and life experiences. I don't make any warranty about completeness, reliability, or accuracy of anything posted here. (Although I do believe the Bible is the 100% infallible word of God, I don't provide a warranty for the Bible. God can prove and validate Scripture on his own without any help from me!)

Any action you take or fail to take based on something you find on this web site is solely at your own risk. I will not be liable for any losses and/or damages that may be connected to use of this site.
